Here some more pictures i made this holiday in Tenerife. The pictures arent that good but the building makes it up!It’s the nicest building i discovered this year! Its a little gasstation in Puerto de la Cruz made by Luis Cabrera. A local architect who was clearly inspired by Pier Luigi Nervi and Felix Candela. This exceptional building combines the two influences. The roof over the gasstation is a star or flower – shell protecting the cars from rain and giving shadow. Its made in the same way Candela made his shells. The workplace under the gasstation has a ceiling with a concrete structure like Nervi made them. So beautiful these fluent lines! This is what conrete is meant for! Soon i’ll show more of his work…
This is the building partly inspired me for the Velm-Masterplan that i made last year. You can see it on my personal site.

I also cant keep this one from you… a picture from last week rigggght from rainy Belgium.
Last year i went inside this house and i have some pics from it. They will come soooon online.
Its called Roelants House by Willy Van der Meeren
Its a house conceived as a concrete shell. It looks like a sort ofa bunker. But its just a roof that s standing on top of a hill with a fabulous view. I Would love to live there.
This year belgian monuments committee will protect. Last year it was sold and the people who bought it start to do litte renovations. You can see they replaced the old chimneys by new ones and they put an ugly carport behind the house which completely doesnt fit. Hope they threat the house well.
I dont know a lot of houses like this! Pretty unique i think.
Also enjoy the belgian grey sky on the pic….

Some pictures i made this christmas holiday from on of my all-time favourite buildings.
Its an appartment building from the late fifties in Los Christianos, Tenerife. Its named “christianmar” and designed by an almost architect called Luis Sanson-Chirinos y Vicens.
The building plan is half circular and all the appartements are little circles! Stacked on top of each other. They are given acces by an open galleria and a superbeautiful outside stair….. Realllly nice one! I ve really fallen in love with this building. Every year i try to make trip to bring it a visit.
But there seems be bad news. Apparently it is threatened by demilition! Craaazyyy!!!! I heard it doesnt fit in the new urban plan of the city! I think they should protect it before its too late…
Also structurally it is not doing so great… Check out the pix!

Just found back this picture! I took it in the summer when passing by Brno when i was making a roadtrip to Romenia with my girlfriend.
You see the red chaise longue in the living room of one of the most beautiful villa’s evvver made!
Villa Tugendhat by Mies Van Der Rohe.
Didnt see Corbu doing such things: Mies you ROCK!
My friends in OMA told me that Rem Koolhaas described this room as the coolest scene for a porn movie.
I agreeee… look at this holy red velvet chair… my god i woooont imagine!
